Chelsea's Rafa Benitez insists he will return as Liverpool boss
RAFA BENITEZ has vowed to one day return as Liverpool manager.
I will return, almost certainly. What I do not know is when.
Benitez left on good terms in 2010 having won the Champions League and FA Cup - but the league title eluded him.
The Spaniard said: "I know I will return to Liverpool as coach one day, almost certainly.
"What I don’t know is when but my wife and children still live there, so I will be back.
“I am a professional and I have ambition. I want to compete and win and there are not many clubs that can provide you with that opportunity - and even less who need a coach.”
I will return, almost certainly. What I do not know is when.
The 52-year-old will leave Stamford Bridge at the end of the season but told Spanish newspaper Marca he was happy with the job he was doing.
He said: “Maybe it’s difficult to understand from the outside, but I think we’re doing a great job.
“Our squad is short in some areas and we are a team in transition. People think that this is the Chelsea of Drogba, Essien and Lampard at their peak. No, now is a team in transition with Hazard, Mata, Oscar, Marin and Moses.
“These are young players who are still adapting to the club. We have gone from a physically equipped team like the old Chelsea, to the one we have now which is far more technical
