Amstrong DOWN, Messi NEXT

LIONEL MESSI ON DRUGS?!

      VS

With great power comes great responsibility and great expectation. Lance Armstrong is arguably the best cyclist of his generation despite all allegations surrounding his prominence in the game. The day i read online of the most sophisticated doping ever carried out in the world of cycling by this loved cyclist i felt so bad because this is someone I have always admired. The next question i asked myself was that is it possible for one to achieve greatness without influence from one means or the other. According to Lance Armstrong he couldn't have achieved such feat without doing what he did. How relative is this to other sport? The question is if it was impossible to achieve such a feat in the world of cycling without doping then how possible is it to reign as the world's best footballer for a consecutive period of four years. How easy is it to maintain such dominance in a sport as physical as football? Lionel Messi comes to mind. Arguably the finest footballer of his generation. The only player that does things other players can only dream of. The reigning world footballer and the best footballer for the past three years.

The fear of Messi in the world of football is the beginning of wisdom for goalkeepers; ask Iker Casillas. My fear now is this; once in a while do we find athletes of exceptional qualities like that of Messi. You can mention Maradonna of Argentina, Pele of Brazil amongst others but you will agree with me that of this two footballers, Maradonna still made more waves than Pele in the world of football. Maradonna's source of inspiration and motivation can not be far fetched . There is no controversy that Maradonna's image became dented with the fact that he did drugs. That damaged his footballing career. Now we have Messi. Is Messi operating on a fair level like every other footballer? is Messi playing with just natural abilities? Maradonna has always been on the side of Messi, does that mean they have something in common? you know what I mean. lol
It took over twelve years for Lance Armstrong to be discovered, how long will it take for Lionel Messi to be discovered? Just a curious mind though.
