Hiphop Purist! Mode 9 Not Planning A Commercial Album

Hiphop Purist! Mode 9 Not Planning A Commercial Album

Disappointing news for everyone: Mode 9 doesn’t give squat about your club-bangers and Azonto songs.
‘It’s all lies. I do not have any intention of putting out a commercial album. They are trying to sway the attention away from my album which is always 100% hiphop’. A surprised Mode 9 revealed.
Nigeria’s rap veteran, Mode9, who is seen as a hiphop purist, has denied having plans of putting out a commercial album.
This the rapper said while reacting to reports by several blogs and websites last weekend claiming that he was working on a commercial album that storm the market soon.
He also denied the rumour claiming that they were the handworks of his detractors to undermine the buzz of his forthcoming album ‘Alphabetical Order’.
And He thinks that his detractors are at their mongering best again. ‘There have been some elements that have always been working against me in this industry. I’m recording a track real soon and I’m going to mention all of their names’.
Mode 9 is highly regarded as one of the most prolific rappers in Africa, winning the Headies Awards for  ‘Lyricist on the Roll’ for several years back to back. But a recurrent issue is his staunch refusal to blend his pure hiphop genre with the more appealing  Afro-hiphop genre in vogue in Nigeria.
The new album ‘Alphabetical Order’ which is a collaborative album between Mode 9 and producer, XYZ, is set to drop on Thursday, April 11, 2013.
